For people who does not find good sounds anymore and who were looking for a happy and dancing hip hop, La Vieille Ecole falls sheer. It innovates and creates his own touch by a fresh and cool world music, far away from traditionnal and actual clichés. Coming from the East coast of France, La Vieille Ecole is known in the music landscape by means of 3 EP’s that are really representative of each identity of the band ; it’s a melting-pot.

These 3 albums, original by an authentic and unique style, speak about serious subjects too badly rare in french hip hop. They shake your mind by speaking about WWII and the jewish genocide (« La Vie est Belle ») or tells you about their every day life (« Crème Chantier »).

True and direct lyrics describing and sharing their world. The whole is put into an attractive mixture where each member adds his touch, introduced by a mix, percussions, decorated with rai and latino tones

La Vieille Ecole is in fact 5 independent and additional identities giving an open-minded hip hop. Always keeping its attachment to the old school spirit, the crew joins the class of Grand Master Flash or Rakim and its sunny energy comes from the cubans of Orishas. Thanks to several musical influences (reggae, ragga, raï, salsa…), the members grew up and played with numerous and big french artists such as Massilia Sound System or Zebda, to whom we can compare them to.

LINE-UP :

- Giovanni aka DJ Vagio (music) : always on time, false peaceful, shy pupil, needed in class-room
- Ali aka le Raïppeur (back vocals) : always late but with a smile, never happy, efficient, serious pupil
- Philippe aka Boumbaka (back vocals/djembe, timbales) : comes before everybody with his good humor, wants to do everything and do it well, doesn’t like bad notes, hyperactive, drinks too much Pepsi
- Serge aka Jesers (lyrics/lead vocals) : comes late too, head in the clouds, well agitated but motivated, serious and fastidious pupil, obviously chattering
- Belmiro aka Mimi (congas) : finally on time, hard at work, sometimes invisible and should not focus on his experience
